Hebron: Occupation forces withdraw following an 11-day offensive

HEBRON, November 2, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces withdrew today, Monday, from several neighborhoods in the city of Hebron that they had occupied during an 11-day offensive.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces pulled out of the Al-Jalda and Ein Deir Bahha areas, as well as other parts of Hebron, following an 11-day assault and siege. Residents have begun returning to their homes.

In turn, the Civil Defense urged citizens to adhere to safety guidelines following the withdrawal of the occupation forces. Residents are advised not to touch suspicious objects or enter damaged buildings before they have been inspected. The public is also asked to clear the way for Civil Defense teams and explosive ordnance disposal units, and to keep a close watch on children, the elderly, and people with disabilities.

The sustained offensive on Hebron has displaced or otherwise affected more than 3,300 residents—particularly in the Al-Jalda and Ein Deir Bahha areas—and resulted in the demolition of 15 homes and facilities. The aggression has also caused significant damage to the local economy and infrastructure, and has disrupted the educational process.

According to a statement issued yesterday by the Hebron Municipality, occupation forces completely demolished 15 homes and facilities and forced the closure of 327 shops in the city. Direct daily economic losses resulting from the offensive have exceeded 12 million shekels (approximately 3.8 million US dollars). The municipality estimated the total damage to infrastructure at over 6 million shekels ($1.9 million), while losses in the health and environmental sectors reached approximately 500,000 shekels ($160,000).

Furthermore, around 80,000 students have been unable to attend their schools due to the ongoing aggression against the city, which has now entered its tenth day.
