Colonists attack home, uproot trees and steal more than 100 sheep in Minya, east of Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, August 13, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists attacked a home and farm in the Jabal al-Qarn area of Minya town, east of Bethlehem, early Thursday, stealing more than 100 sheep and a vehicle and uprooting more than 100 olive trees.

Ahmed Qawazbeh, head of the Minya village council, told WAFA that colonists attacked the Jabareen family at around 3 a.m., while Israeli occupation forces detained family members who were inside the home and farm and took them to an unknown location.

He said the colonists stole around 100 sheep, stole one vehicle and damaged another, vandalized the house and smashed its contents and belongings. They also destroyed the solar power system supplying the property with electricity and cut off its water line before leaving the area.

Qawazbeh added that Israeli occupation forces detained three members of the family.

The colonists also physically assaulted members of the family, injuring two of them. One of the injured was taken to Al-Hussein Hospital in Beit Jala for medical treatment, while Israeli occupation forces detained the other despite the seriousness of his condition.

The Jabal al-Qarn area and Minya have witnessed a rise in colonists' attacks targeting Palestinian residents, their property and farms, as well as local water and electricity sources.
