NEW YORK, August 8, 2026 (WAFA) — The UN Security Council presidency announced on Saturday that the Council will hold a session next Tuesday on the West Bank under the agenda item “The situation in the Middle East,” at the request of several members.

The Council will hear a briefing via videoconference from Ramiz Alakbarov, Deputy Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, as well as a briefing from UNICEF Deputy Executive Director Hanan Suleiman.
