JENIN, October 20, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces prevented residents from the town of Ya'bad, southwest of Jenin, from reaching their lands to harvest olives today, Tuesday—despite prior coordination—and detained several individuals before forcing them to turn back.
The Ya'bad Municipality reported to WAFA that residents had headed to their lands in the vicinity of the "Dotan" settlement, following established coordination procedures. However, occupation forces blocked most of them from accessing the area and detained dozens of vehicles carrying them. The municipality noted that only about four families were able to reach their land, while the rest were compelled to return to the town.
Furthermore, the municipality stated that occupation forces detained a number of young men, bound some of them, and blindfolded them before forcing them to leave. It confirmed that residents were effectively barred from harvesting their olives, with the exception of a limited number of farmers over the age of 45.
