Israel continues seige on Nablus-area town, for the tenth consecutive day

NABLUS, October 19, 2026 (WAFA) — For the tenth consecutive day, Israeli occupation forces continue to impose a siege on the town of Madama, south of Nablus, keeping all its entrances closed.

Rami Nassar, head of the Madama Village Council, told WAFA that occupation forces have blocked the town’s four main and secondary entrances with earthen mounds for the past ten days, severely restricting the movement of residents.

He added that occupation forces pursue and harass residents attempting to enter or leave the town. He noted that early this Tuesday, a resident suffered a heart attack, forcing others to carry him on foot across the mountains, as the siege prevented an ambulance from reaching the area.

Nassar warned of a worsening humanitarian situation in the town, citing shortages of medicine and essential supplies. He noted that more than 2,500 people reside in the town.

Nassar further stated that when he attempted to bring medicine into the town, occupation forces opened fire. The forces are frequently stationed near the northern entrance, which remains completely sealed off.
