Vice President al-Sheikh meets Moroccan ambassador, discusses latest developments

 

RAMALLAH, August 2, 2026 (WAFA) – Vice President of the State of Palestine Hussein al-Sheikh on Sunday received Moroccan Ambassador to the State of Palestine Abdel Rahim Meziane to discuss the latest political developments and the longstanding fraternal relations between Palestine and the Kingdom of Morocco.

During the meeting, al-Sheikh asked Ambassador Meziane to convey his sincere congratulations to King Mohammed VI, the Moroccan government, and the Moroccan people on the 27th anniversary of the King's accession to the Throne, wishing Morocco continued progress and prosperity.

Al-Sheikh also briefed the ambassador on the latest political, economic, and social developments in the occupied Palestinian Territory, including the repercussions of Israel's ongoing aggression in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, as well as the accompanying escalation and violations against the Palestinian people.

The two sides also discussed the repercussions of Israel's continued withholding of Palestinian clearance revenues and its severe impact on the financial and economic situation. Al-Sheikh stressed the importance of intensifying Arab and international efforts to halt the Israeli aggression and put an end to Israel's unilateral measures, while expressing appreciation for Morocco's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause.
