BRATISLAVA, March 24, 2026 (WAFA) – Palestine’s ambassador to Slovakia, Safa Khalidi, and Slovak Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Vladimír Vnuk, signed an agricultural cooperation agreement on Tuesday in Bratislava, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding areas of collaboration between the two countries.
The agreement highlights both sides’ commitment to advancing agriculture, food safety, and animal health through the exchange of technical expertise, knowledge transfer, and the adoption of modern practices in sustainable agriculture, food security, and veterinary medicine.
Deputy Minister Vnuk emphasized the agreement’s role in supporting national efforts to develop the agricultural sector, describing it as a key step toward enhancing international cooperation and improving the skills of agricultural personnel.
Ambassador Khalidi welcomed the collaboration, stressing the importance of implementing the agreement in ways that serve mutual interests, support Palestinian farmers, establish developmental programs to strengthen agriculture in Palestine, facilitate experience exchange between the two countries, and address challenges posed by colonial expansion, Israeli restrictions on West Bank farmers, and the collapse of agricultural infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.
