RAMALLAH, March 21, 2026 (WAFA) – The Central Operations Directorate has recorded, since February 28, 2026, the fall of 198 rocket fragments across various areas in the governorates. These incidents have resulted in the deaths of five citizens, including four fatalities in Hebron Governorate, and one fatality caused by a fall from height while a citizen was observing the rockets. In addition, nine injuries have been reported, along with approximately 27 cases of material damage to citizens' property.
Police Media Spokesperson, Loay Irziqat, stated that, in line with the directives of Major General Alaa Al-Saqa, Chief of Police, the police force has raised its level of readiness to closely monitor ongoing developments and their serious implications for public safety. This includes providing all necessary assistance to citizens, strengthening field presence, responding to falling rocket debris and fragments, and ensuring the protection of civilians from potential hazards.
The police are continuously monitoring developments through field teams deployed across the affected areas, in coordination with the relevant authorities, to ensure public safety and maintain security and order.
The police urge all citizens to exercise maximum caution and vigilance. They strongly advise against climbing onto rooftops to film or observe events in the sky, or remaining in exposed or open areas. Citizens are encouraged to stay in safe locations and avoid gatherings, as such actions pose a direct threat to their lives.
The police also stressed the importance of not approaching, touching, tampering with, dragging, or moving any suspicious objects, or taking photographs near them, due to the serious risks they pose. Citizens are urged to immediately report such objects, as well as any resulting damage or injuries, to the relevant authorities for proper handling.

The police further called on citizens not to be misled by rumors or to circulate unverified information, and to rely solely on official statements issued by the relevant authorities and accredited media outlets, in order to preserve public awareness and strengthen security and stability.
