Corruption Crimes court issues prison sentences, confiscation orders, and fines in case of Border and Crossings Authority

RAMALLAH, February 3, 2026 (WAFA) –The Anti-Corruption Crimes Court on Monday issued its verdict in the criminal case related to the General Authority for Crossings and Borders, based on evidence presented by the Public Prosecution and following the completion of all legal trial procedures.

The court sentenced defendant (N.M.) to 15 years in prison and defendant (R.M.) to seven years in prison on the charges brought against them.

It also ordered N.M. to repay amounts listed in the indictment totaling 6,137,225 Israeli shekels, $4,499,030, 2,923,717 Jordanian dinars, and €6,974, and imposed fines on both defendants equivalent to the amounts ordered to be repaid.

The ruling included the confiscation of movable and immovable assets obtained through the crimes, as well as assets seized in connection with the case. The court also ordered the confiscation of real estate owned by the convicted individuals in Palestine, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates, and barred them from disposing of these properties in accordance with the law.

The verdict was issued by a judicial panel headed by Judge Ramez Masleh, with Judges Najaat Al-Briki and Fattoum Qatami as members.

The Public Prosecution charged N.M. with corruption offenses under Anti-Corruption Law No. (1) of 2005 and its amendments, including illicit enrichment, trading in influence, abuse of authority, misuse of public office, and obtaining unlawful personal benefit, in addition to money laundering charges against both N.M. and R.M., as outlined in the indictment.

The Prosecution confirmed that it had taken precautionary measures throughout the case, including the freezing of movable and immovable assets, to safeguard public funds and ensure the effective enforcement of the ruling. It stressed that it will proceed without delay to take all necessary legal steps to implement the judgment and pursue all its legal consequences, reinforcing the principle of non-impunity.
