RAMALLAH, February 1, 2026 (WAFA) – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a delegation of Arab foreign ministers, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, and heads of Arab delegations who were in India to participate in the Second Arab–India Ministerial Meeting, according to a statement issued by the Indian Representative Office in Ramallah.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the deep-rooted and historical ties between the peoples of India and the Arab world, noting that these longstanding relations have consistently served as a foundation for strengthening and advancing bilateral cooperation over the years.
Modi outlined his vision for the future of the India–Arab partnership, reaffirming India’s commitment to further enhancing cooperation in key sectors including trade and investment, energy, technology, healthcare, and other priority areas, in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both sides.
The Indian Prime Minister also reiterated India’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people and welcomed ongoing peace efforts, particularly the Gaza Peace Plan. He further expressed appreciation for the important role played by the League of Arab States in supporting initiatives aimed at achieving regional security and stability.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Prime Minister Modi held a separate meeting with Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Varsen Aghabekian Shahin. During the meeting, the Palestinian minister expressed her appreciation for India’s continued humanitarian and development assistance to Palestine and extended an invitation to the Prime Minister to visit Palestine. Prime Minister Modi, in turn, reaffirmed India’s firm commitment to the Palestinian cause and to the Palestinian people.
