DAVOS, January 21, 2026 (WAFA) — Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa today discussed with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Administrator Alexander De Croo ways to strengthen joint action in implementing reconstruction programmes in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
During the meeting, held on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos and attended by Palestine’s ambassador to Switzerland and the United Nations in Geneva, Ibrahim Khraishi, Mustafa also discussed intensifying cooperation to provide essential services in Palestine. These include humanitarian and medical supplies and other vital services amid the severe humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip.
Mustafa briefed De Croo on the latest developments in the West Bank, pointing to the escalation of settler attacks, Israeli restrictions, and the increase in military checkpoints. He also discussed the severe financial crisis facing the Palestinian government as a result of Israeli policies and measures, foremost among them the continued withholding of Palestinian tax revenues.
The Prime Minister stressed the need for the international community, and UN institutions in particular, to assume their responsibilities in supporting the Palestinian people, ensuring the sustainability of basic services, and accelerating recovery and reconstruction efforts in line with international law and relevant UN resolutions.
Both sides underscored the importance of coordinating efforts with international partners to ensure the urgent and regular delivery of humanitarian aid and the provision of essential needs to the population in the Gaza Strip, in a way that helps ease suffering and strengthen resilience.
