PM Mustafa discusses strengthening Khan al-Ahmar’s resilience

RAMALLAH, May 25, 2026 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met on Monday at his office in Ramallah with a delegation from Khan al-Ahmar to discuss ways to bolster the resilience of the residents in the face of the dangers of forced displacement and ongoing attacks by Israeli forces and colonists.

 The meeting was also attended by Mu'ayyad Sha'ban, head of the Commission against the Wall and Settlements, and Alaa al-Tamimi, head of the Land Authority.

The meeting addressed the difficult conditions faced by the residents of Khan al-Ahmar and the surrounding Bedouin communities, given the escalating Israeli attacks and measures aimed at emptying the area of its indigenous population as part of broader settlement plans targeting the area around Jerusalem.

The Prime Minister directed the relevant authorities to provide all possible support to the residents to strengthen their steadfastness.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the issue of Khan al-Ahmar and the Bedouin communities is a priority for the government. He stressed the continued provision of basic needs and essential services, and support for employment programs and development projects.

 He also directed the relevant authorities to address the residents' needs in the health, education, agriculture, and renewable energy sectors, thereby strengthening the citizens' resilience and their attachment to their land despite the ongoing violations.

He also warned of the dangers of posed by Israeli settlement schemes, particularly the “E1” project, which he said aims to separate Jerusalem from its Palestinian surroundings in the occupied West Bank and fragment Palestinian territorial continuity, undermining prospects for a geographically contiguous Palestinian state.

He reiterated his commitment to continuing political, diplomatic, and legal efforts to garner broader Arab and international support for the residents of Khan al-Ahmar and to expose the occupation's policies aimed at displacing the population to facilitate colonial expansion.

The meeting emphasized the importance of intensifying official, popular, human rights, and media efforts to protect Khan al-Ahmar, bolster the resilience of its residents, and keep their plight at the forefront of the international community's agenda in the face of occupation and colonial schemes.
