RAMALLAH, September 10, 2026 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa received today, Thursday, at his office in Ramallah the new European Union Representative to the State of Palestine, Andreas Wiedler, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Dr. Omar Awadallah and the Prime Minister’s Adviser for International Relations, Ambassador Izzat Abdulhadi. Mustafa briefed him on the latest developments and field situation in the Palestinian Territory.

The Prime Minister reviewed developments in the West Bank, including the continued attacks and terrorist acts by Israeli colonial settlers against our people and their property; the Israeli occupation’s continued withholding of Palestinian tax revenues; restrictions on the movement of people and goods through military checkpoints and closures; land confiscation and colonial settlement expansion; as well as the continued genocidal war and aggression against our people in the Gaza Strip and restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid, relief supplies and recovery assistance.

He stressed the importance of continuing efforts to achieve the two-State solution in accordance with international resolutions, end the occupation and realize the independent Palestinian state, while strengthening national institutions and the steadfastness of our people.

Prime Minister Mustafa also underscored the importance of supporting efforts to hold the upcoming Palestinian elections and fulfil the next democratic milestone, and of removing obstacles to ensure their conduct in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

Mustafa welcomed the new EU Representative, wished him success in his duties, and affirmed the Government’s readiness to facilitate his work. He commended the European Union’s important role across political, economic and humanitarian fronts, as well as the support it provides to the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

For his part, the EU Representative reaffirmed the continuation of efforts to achieve the two-State solution and realize the Palestinian state, strengthen cooperation between Palestine and the European Union, and support efforts to ensure the holding of the upcoming Palestinian elections
