Prime Minister discusses support for Gaza’s health sector and prisoners’ conditions with Red Cross

RAMALLAH, May 25, 2026 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met with the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation, Julien Leresson, and the ICRC representative in Palestine, Julien Chassani, to discuss strengthening cooperation, particularly intensifying field interventions in the Gaza Strip.

They also discussed ways to expanding and intensifying field hospitals, facilitating the entry of medicines and medical supplies, and pressing for the evacuation of wounded Palestinians requiring treatment outside the Strip.

The meeting, held at the Prime Minister's office, and attended by Health Minister Majid Abu Ramadan and Social Development Minister Samah Hamad, also addressed intensifying efforts to halt Israeli measures against Palestinian prisoners, especially children, the elderly, and women.

They highlighted the measures committed against Palestinian prisoners and detainees inside Israeli jails including, physical and psychological torture, the spread of skin diseases, the denial of healthcare services, and malnutrition.

Furthermore, the participants reviewed the scope of ongoing interventions in targeted areas and the need to bolster emergency response operations to assist Palestinians, particularly in the northern West Bank and areas targeted by colonist violence and Israeli measures, especially demolitions and forced evictions.
