Weather: Stormy and rainy conditions across Palestine

RAMALLAH, December 28, 2025 (WAFA) — The effects of the low-pressure system are expected to continue to affect Palestine on Sunday, with cloudy, rainy, windy, and cold to very cold conditions prevailing across the country, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department.

Rain is expected to fall over most areas, becoming heavy during the early morning hours, while rainfall during the daytime will be intermittent. Winds will be southwesterly to westerly, active with strong gusts at times that may reach around 50 km/h, and sea conditions will be rough.

During the evening and night hours, the country will remain under the influence of the low-pressure system, with cloudy, cold, and stormy weather.

On Monday, the weather will continue to be cloudy, rainy, windy, and cold to very cold. Rainfall is expected across most areas and may be heavy at times, accompanied by thunderstorms and occasional hail. Winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly, active with strong gusts that may reach up to 70 km/h, and the sea will remain rough.

On Tuesday, conditions will ease slightly, with partly cloudy and cold weather, especially in mountainous areas. A slight rise in temperatures is expected, with a chance of light, scattered rain in some areas. Winds will be northwesterly to westerly, moderate to occasionally active, and the sea will be moderate.

By Wednesday, the weather will be partly cloudy to clear and cold, particularly in mountainous regions, with a further slight rise in temperatures. There remains a weak chance of light, scattered rainfall in some areas. Winds will be northwesterly to westerly, moderate to active, and the sea will be moderate.

The Meteorological Department warned residents during the period affected by the low-pressure system of the dangers of strong winds, flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas, slippery roads, and reduced horizontal visibility.
