Donor coordination group discusses Palestinian financial priorities and recovery plans

RAMALLAH, December 18, 2025 (WAFA) — The Donor Coordination Group held its closing meeting for 2025 under the chairmanship of Finance and Planning Minister Estephan Salameh to discuss the ministry’s priorities in the coming period amid the ongoing financial crisis.

During the meeting, Salameh reviewed the latest organizational developments and ongoing reforms led by the ministry, alongside the financial challenges facing the Palestinian government and efforts to secure emergency funding to support financial stability.

The discussion also focused on the recovery and reconstruction plan in Gaza for the upcoming period, emphasizing the necessity of the Palestinian government leading reconstruction to ensure the unity of the land and Palestinian institutions.

Participants also discussed contributions from international partners to support priority sectors, particularly the health sector, and ways to enhance coordination in Gaza’s recovery efforts.

Participants affirmed their support for the reform directions, stressing the need to strengthen the link between planning and budgeting, support government institutions, and address key financial issues, notably the release of tax clearance revenues.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the importance of continued coordination and cooperation between international partners and the Palestinian government to ensure the success of recovery efforts and financial stability in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
