Weather: Low-pressure system continues; another drop in temperature

RAMALLAH, December 16, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD) said that the country will continue to be affected by the low-pressure system today, Tuesday, with a drop in temperatures.

The weather will be partly cloudy and cold, especially over the mountainous areas, with scattered showers expected across most of the country, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms and hail at times. The chance of precipitation will decrease during the evening and night. Winds will be southeasterly to northwesterly, moderate in speed. Sea waves will be moderately rough..

During the evening and night, the weather will be partly cloudy and cold, with a continued chance of light, scattered rain in some areas. Winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly, moderate in speed. Sea waves will be moderately rough.

On Wednesday, the weather will be partly cloudy with a drop in temperatures, making it cold, especially in the mountains. Scattered showers are expected in some areas, particularly in the south, and may be accompanied by thunderstorms at times until midday. Winds will be moderate, occasionally becoming brisk, from the northwest to northeast. Sea waves will be moderately rough.

Thursday's weather will be generally clear with a rise in temperatures, remaining cold, especially in the mountains. Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally becoming brisk, from the southeast to northwest. Sea waves will be low.

Meanwhile on Friday, the weather will be partly cloudy with a rise in temperatures, remaining cold, especially in the mountains. Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally becoming brisk, from the southeast to northwest. Sea waves will be low.

The PMD warned citizens during the country’s exposure to the low-pressure system of the danger of: the formation of torrents and floods in valleys and low-lying areas, especially in the south and east, slipping on roads, reduced horizontal visibility, and low temperatures.
