Palestinian worker injured by Israeli forces' gunfire near separation barrier north of occupied Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, December 2, 2025 (WAFA) – A young Palestinian man was injured by Israeli occupation forces’ gunfire on Tuesday night in the town of Beit Hanina, north of occupied Jerusalem.

The Jerusalem Governorate said the young man was shot near the separation barrier in Beit Hanina. The severity of his injury remains unknown.

Local sources reported that Israeli forces chased several workers near the separation wall and opened fire at them, injuring one worker.

Since the beginning of this year, 15 workers have been killed by Israeli occupation forces’ fire, during chases inside the 1948 territories, or after falling from the separation wall while attempting to cross into Israel for work, according to data from the General Federation of Palestinian Trade Unions.

In recent months, hundreds of workers have been subjected to detentions and abuse by Israeli police under the pretext of lacking entry permits.

Since October 2023, the federation has documented the killing of 42 workers and the detention of more than 32,000 others.

Israel revoked the work permits of workers from the West Bank following the outbreak of its aggression on Gaza on October 7, 2023. The revocation of entry permits to Israel has prevented approximately 150,000–200,000 West Bank Palestinians from working.
