International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People marked in Moscow

MOSCOW, November 29, 2025 (WAFA) – The Embassy of the State of Palestine to the Russian Federation, in cooperation with the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Embassy of the League of Arab States, and the United Nations Information Office, marked the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, observed annually on November 29.

The stand was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps from Arab and Islamic countries, European states, and Latin America, as well as figures from political, parliamentary, media, cultural circles, and influential civil society organizations.

In his welcoming remarks, Palestinian Ambassador Abdel Hafeez Nofal conveyed the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas to the Russian people and leadership for their continued support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and for efforts toward a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause, stressing the imperative of realizing the aspirations of the Palestinian people, foremost the establishment of a Palestinian state on the June 4 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

For his part, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin delivered a speech on the occasion on behalf of President Vladimir Putin, underscoring Russia’s principled and steadfast position on the Palestinian cause and stressing the Palestinian people’s legitimate national rights based on international legitimacy resolutions, including their right to establish an independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Director of the UN Information Office, Vladimir Kuznetsov, also delivered an address conveying a message from UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, stressing that there can be no security or stability in the Middle East without a just solution to the Palestinian question based on the two-state solution and relevant UN resolutions.

A number of other key figures delivered speeches during the event.

Speakers unanimously voiced rejection of the genocidal war of destruction and killing carried out by Israel against the Palestinian people and their holy sites in Gaza and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and affirmed support for the Palestinian leadership’s vision of achieving a just settlement of the Palestinian cause based on international legitimacy.

They also noted that the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People coincides with the ongoing war, terror, and Judaization pursued by the occupation authorities and colonists’ gangs in the occupied Palestinian Territory, making its commemoration a support for the call for freedom and justice, an affirmation of human values, and a renewed appeal for the implementation of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy.
