DOHA, November 25, 2025 (WAFA) - The Palestinian national football team qualified for the Arab Cup on Tuesday evening after defeating Libya 4–3 in a penalty shootout, following a goalless draw at the end of regular time.
The team delivered a strong performance throughout the match, particularly in the first half, creating several chances but failing to find the net. With no goals scored during normal play, the match was decided by penalties, where goalkeeper Rami Hamadeh produced an impressive display to secure qualification.
Palestine joined Group A of the tournament, which includes host nation Qatar, Tunisia, and Syria, who defeated South Sudan 2–0 earlier on Tuesday.
The Palestinian team will begin its Arab Cup campaign on December 1 with an opening match against host Qatar.
