QALQILYA, June 27, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation authorities on Friday transported 12 mobile homes to a new colonial outpost established on Palestinian-owned land east of the city of Qalqilya, housing 10 families of Israeli colonists.
Murad Shteiwi, director of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission in the northern West Bank, told WAFA that the relocation took place overnight under heavy protection from the Israeli army. He noted that it is part of a plan to expand colonial outposts linked to the Kedumim settlement, which is built on lands belonging to the village of Kafr Qaddum, east of Qalqilya.
Shteiwi explained that six months ago, Israeli authorities began bulldozing and constructing a settler-only road in the area. This included razing approximately 10 dunums of land and establishing a new colonial outpost atop Mount al-Kadan, seizing land from Kafr Qaddum village. The outpost has been named Gideon’s Neighborhood and is now considered part of the Kedumim settlement.
He warned that this outpost threatens to further restrict access for Palestinian farmers to thousands of dunums planted with olive trees north of the village, potentially isolating these lands and depriving their owners of cultivation and access.
