Israeli forces declare the village of Khallet al-Dabaa in Masafer Yatta a “closed military zone”

HEBRON, June 1, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces declared the Palestinian village of Khirbet Khallet al-Dabaa in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, a “closed military zone” on Sunday, forcibly removing residents and international solidarity activists from the area.

Local activist Osama Makhamra told WAFA that soldiers stormed the village, forcibly expelled civilians and international supporters, and demanded a list of names of all village residents.

Makhamra said the military order is part of an ongoing campaign to Judaize the area and expand Israeli colonial control over Palestinian land. He warned that residents face daily harassment, violence, and restrictions as part of an Israeli strategy to drive them from their homes.

In recent months, Israeli forces have intensified efforts in Masafer Yatta, photographing homes, conducting population surveys, and barring access to international observers, in an attempt to suppress documentation of these violations and clear the way for settlement expansion.
