Weather: Significant drop in temperature, scattered rain expected

RAMALLAH, March 19, 2025 (WAFA) - The Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD) said that the weather on Wednesday partly cloudy and pleasantly spring-like as temperatures drop significantly, becoming around their annual average.

Starting in the evening, the country will gradually be affected by a low-pressure cold front accompanied by a cold air mass. Scattered rain showers will fall in some areas. Winds will be westerly to northwesterly, moderate to active. Sea waves will be moderate.

In the evening and night hours, the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy, cold to very cold, with scattered showers expected in most areas. Winds will be westerly, active, with strong gusts at times, reaching speeds of around 60 km/h. The sea will be wavy.

On Thursday, the country will continue to be affected by a low-pressure cold front. The weather will be generally cloudy and cold to very cold. Temperatures will drop significantly, becoming 5-6 degrees Celsius below their annual average. Scattered showers of rain will fall across most areas.

The low-pressure cold front will continue to affect the country on Friday, making the weather generally cloudy and cold to very cold. Temperatures will drop slightly again. Scattered showers of rain will fall across most areas.

On Saturday, the weather will remain cold to very cold, with temperatures rising and a slight chance of scattered light rain in some areas in the morning.

The PMD warned people—during the period of the low-pressure cold front—of a significant drop in temperatures, the risk of slipping on roads in areas experiencing rainfall, poor horizontal visibility, and strong winds.
