UNRWA: Plight of Palestinian refugees remains the longest unresolved refugee crisis in the world

NEW YORK, November 29, 2024 (WAFA) - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) stressed that the plight of the Palestinian refugees remains the longest unresolved refugee crisis in the world.

UNRWA stressed that since October 2023, the Gaza Strip has been experiencing the most intense bombardment of a civilian population since World War II.

In a statement marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, UNRWA highlighted that this is the second consecutive year the occasion has coincided with the occupation’s ongoing genocide in Gaza, taking place without any effective international intervention or deterrence.

“The plight of the Palestine Refugees remains the longest unresolved refugee crisis in the world,” said UNRWA.

UNRWA further emphasized the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
