GAZA, November 2, 2024 (WAFA) — Three children were injured this afternoon when an Israeli drone dropped a bomb on a medical clinic conducting a polio vaccination campaign in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City.
WAFA correspondent, citing local medics, reported that the injured children were taken to the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City following the attack. The drone strike occurred at the Sheikh Radwan clinic, where a vaccination campaign against polio was underway for children under the age of ten.
This incident took place during the third phase of the second round of an emergency polio vaccination campaign launched today in Gaza.
The northern region of the Gaza Strip has been experiencing a wide-scale Israeli ethnic cleansing campaign for the past 29 days, complicating public health efforts in the region.
The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 43,204 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 101,640 others injured.
Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.
Israel's genocidal attacks continue unabated despite calls from the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
