RAMALLAH, September 24, 2026 (WAFA) – President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas will deliver Palestine’s address today, Thursday, before the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. This year’s session is being held under the theme: "Restoring Trust and Managing Transformation: A United Nations in the Service of All."
The President will address world monarchs, presidents, and leaders via a pre-recorded speech scheduled for after 4:30 PM (Palestine time).
On the 17th of this month, 152 countries voted in favor of a UN General Assembly resolution rejecting the United States' decision to bar the Palestinian delegation from participating in the 81st session. The resolution called on the U.S. to reverse the decision, deeming it a violation of the Headquarters Agreement.
