Presidency holds Israel responsible for worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza

RAMALLAH, November 7, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Presidency on Saturday held the Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for the worsening humanitarian catastrophe facing Palestinians in the Gaza Strip amid the continued Israeli aggression and blockade, particularly as winter approaches and rainwater floods displaced families' tents, leaving them without safe shelter, heating or basic necessities.

In a statement, the Presidency said the continued humanitarian suffering and deprivation of Palestinians of the most basic necessities of life were a direct result of Israel's continued aggressive policies and its obstruction of humanitarian and relief aid deliveries, as well as its failure to comply with the UN Security Council resolution and US President Donald Trump's plan for a ceasefire in Gaza.

It stressed that the situation requires urgent and effective international action to end the suffering.

The Presidency also held the Board of Peace and its envoy, Nikolay Mladenov, responsible for failing to take measures to halt Israeli violations and ensure that Israel fulfills its obligations, warning that overlooking these violations would only deepen Palestinian suffering and undermine prospects for consolidating stability.

It called on the UN Security Council to assume its legal, political and moral responsibilities and take immediate measures to stop Israeli violations, compel the Israeli government to honor its commitments, and open all border crossings to the unrestricted entry of humanitarian, medical and relief assistance.

The Presidency also called for international protection for the Palestinian people, stressing that the immediate priority must be to save lives in Gaza, secure their basic needs and bring an end to their humanitarian suffering.
