QALQILYA, September 24, 2026 (WAFA) – The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission revealed that Israeli occupation authorities have issued a new tender—numbered 196/2026—for the construction of 400 colonial units in the "Karnei Shomron" colony, located on Palestinian land east of Qalqilya.

In a statement issued today, Thursday, the Commission explained that this tender is part of a multi-unit colonial construction project and falls within the ongoing series of tenders issued by occupation authorities to expand existing settlements and increase their housing capacity.

The deadline for the tender has been set for November 23, 2026.

The Commission noted that issuing this tender marks a practical shift from the planning stage to the marketing and implementation phase, occurring amidst an acceleration of colonial activities in the West Bank this year.

It further highlighted the strategic importance of the "Karnei Shomron" colony within the occupation's colonial scheme for the northwestern West Bank.

Its significance stems from its location within a colonial bloc that occupation authorities are actively expanding and linking to surrounding colonies and outposts; this process extends the scope of colonial activity at the expense of Palestinian land and further fragments the West Bank, undermining geographical continuity between its cities and towns.
