GAZA, October 27, 2024 (WAFA) — A series of Israeli airstrikes on Jabalia refugee camp this morning resulted in the murder of 20 civilians, including women and children, and left many others injured, according to local and medical sources.
Eyewitnesses and medical sources confirmed the casualties following an Israeli strike on a residential complex near Al-Fakhoura School in the Jabalia refugee camp.
This attack marks the continuation of the ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing campaign by the Israeli military in the North Gaza Governorate, now in its 23rd consecutive day. The situation has been exacerbated by a ground blockade, ongoing house demolitions, and forced displacement of residents.
With nearly 1,000 reported fatalities from Israeli attacks in northern Gaza, the healthcare system is on the brink of collapse. Reports indicate that the Israeli military renewed artillery shelling and gunfire in Jabalia, Beit Lahiya, and surrounding areas this morning.
In addition, the Israeli forces have cut off communication and internet services in the governorate for over a week, severely hindering press coverage and obstructing residents' ability to connect and report on the situation.
Yesterday, the Director-General of the World Health Organization warned of a "catastrophic" situation in northern Gaza, highlighting a critical shortage of medical supplies and extremely limited access to essential treatments for the affected population.
The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 42,847 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 100,544 others injured.
Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.
Israel's genocidal onslaught continues undeterred despite calls from the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
