RAMALLAH, Tuesday, August 13, 2024 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa said the the government will not hesitate to do everything possible to strengthen the steadfastness of Palestinian people, thwart displacement plans, and improve the quality of services in a manner befitting a people who have sacrificed so much for the sake of freedom and independence.
In his speech at the beginning of the cabinet meeting today in Ramallah, the Prime Minister called on all international parties to assume their legal responsibility regarding Israel's violations in Gaza and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, the latest of which was the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Prime Minister stressed that it is no longer enough to merely make statements or express rejection or concern regarding the scale of the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip, and attempts to turn it into a place unfit for human life.
"After 312 days of systematic killing and destruction in the Gaza Strip, the health situation has gotten out of control, especially after recording more than 100,000 cases of viral hepatitis, in addition to the spread of skin diseases, respiratory diseases, malnutrition, and others. What exacerbates the seriousness of the situation is that the vast majority of hospitals and medical centers in the Strip are out of service," he said during the meeting.
"The government is following with great interest the reports circulating about the emergence of the polio virus in the Gaza Strip, and we are still awaiting the results of the sample tests, which require a few more days," he added. "From the beginning, the government has worked to provide one million and two hundred thousand doses to vaccinate all children in the Gaza Strip from the age of one day to eight years, in the event that the emergence of the virus is confirmed."
"I would like to thank the thousands of Palestinian people who responded to the Ministry of Health’s call to donate blood to patients in the Gaza Strip, which was brought into the Strip in cooperation with Rahma Foundation, in addition to bringing in medications for patients with hemophilia - anemia," the premier noted.
"Finally, it must be reaffirmed that all international parties must assume their legal responsibility towards the occupying authority in Gaza and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, the latest of which was the unprecedented storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque this morning.
"We will not hesitate to do everything possible to strengthen the steadfastness of our people, thwart displacement plans, and improve the quality of services in a manner befitting a people who have sacrificed so much for the sake of freedom and independence."
