RAMALLAH, Tuesday, May 21, 2024 (WAFA) – The Palestinian cabinet condemned during its weekly meeting today the Israeli onslaught on the city of Jenin and its camp, which led to the killing of seven Palestinians, including a doctor, a teacher and a young student, and caused massive destruction to infrastructure.
Speaking at the start of the cabinet’s weekly meeting in Ramallah, Prime Minister, Mohammed Mustafa, discussed the political situation facing the Palestinian cause and a summary of the current economic conditions in light of Israel’s ongoing withholding of the Palestinian Authority’s clearance funds.
Mustafa reviewed the intensive efforts exerted by the Palestinian leadership and government to put pressure on Israel to release the withheld funds, the latest of which was the meeting held with the US National Security Advisor, Jack Sullivan, to pressure Israel to stop its aggression on Gaza and its incursions into West Bank cities, to release the withheld PA tax funds and to halt its measures that undermine the functioning of state institutions.
The cabinet also discussed the general perceptions of the government's plans to be presented at the Ministerial Brussels Conference on the 26th of May to mobilize maximum financial and political support.
The cabinet also discussed the government's preparations for the post-war period and economic recovery plans.
