BERLIN, Monday, May 6, 2024 (WAFA) - Germany warned today against an Israeli ground attack on Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip.
Germany’s Foreign Ministry deputy spokesperson, Kathrin Deschauer, stressed during a press conference in the capital city of Berlin that over one million Palestinians in Rafah are in urgent need of protection and humanitarian support.
The German government and its Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, have previously warned that a humanitarian tragedy would unfold if a ground operation is carried out against the city of Rafah, stressed the German spokesperson.
The spokesperson affirmed her country’s position rejecting the ground invasion of Rafah and warned that a ground offensive against it would lead to a humanitarian catastrophe.
