WASHINGTON, Monday, May 6, 2024 (WAFA) – Hundreds of graduates of American universities raised the Palestinian flag and keffiyeh during graduation ceremonies at several universities including Michigan, Boston, and Chicago, as an expression of solidarity with the Palestinian people and denouncing the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip.

The students raised the Palestinian flag as part of the protest activities against the refusal of university administrations to stop investments and cooperation with Israel, and to submit to the demands of the students, and in rejection of the arrest of more than 2,500 student protesters at universities by US police.

Additionally, schools in the state of Illinois joined student protests across the US, demanding an end to the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people, reflecting another shift in the course of the protests in America that may prompt other educational and academic institutions to join the activities.
