Morocco condemns Israeli Colonists' storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem

RABAT, Thursday, April 25, 2024 (WAFA) - The Kingdom of Morocco condemned the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem by extremist colonial groups, decrying their provocative practices inside its courtyards in violation of its sanctity.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, the kingdom reiterated its rejection of any measures that undermine the legal and historical status quo of the city of Jerusalem and its holy sites, including Al-Aqsa Mosque.

It further stressed its rejection of any restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation on the entry of worshipers into the al-Aqsa mosque.

The statement emphasized the necessity of preserving the mosque's civilizational and Islamic character and avoiding all forms of escalation and provocation.

The Kingdom of Morocco, headed by King Mohammed VI; the Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, stressed that achieving a just and comprehensive peace and consolidating sustainable stability in the region largely depends on the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution and in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.
