RAMALLAH, Wednesday, April 17, 2024 (WAFA) - Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mohammed Mustafa, and Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Jolie discussed during a meeting today the latest developments in the current situation in Palestine.
During a phone conversation, they tackled the ongoing Israeli genocidal war against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the rise of colonists’ terrorism and attacks in the West Bank, in addition to the daily violations of the occupation forces. They also discussed the strengthening of relief and humanitarian efforts in the Gaza Strip.
Mustafa stressed that the Gaza Strip is facing a major humanitarian crisis that requires urgent intervention to strengthen the relief efforts, by pressuring Israel to open all crossings to increase the entry of aid and ensure its distribution in all regions to respond to the emergency humanitarian needs.
He also discussed with the Canadian Minister the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries and the importance of Canada’s recognition of the State of Palestine based on its commitment to the two-state solution and support for the establishment of the Palestinian state, in addition to supporting the government’s efforts in implementing the institutional reform program.
For her part, the Canadian Foreign Minister affirmed the depth of relations between the two countries and the necessity of delivering relief aid to the Gaza Strip, stressing her country's commitment to the two-state solution and its support of the Palestinian government’s reform efforts.
