Journalist syndicate appeals to pressure Israel to facilitate exit of wounded journalists out of Gaza for treatment

GAZA, Friday, January 5, 2024 (WAFA) – After Palestinian journalist, Akram al-Shafi, succumbed to critical wounds he sustained during the Israeli siege and attack on Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza, the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate stressed that his death casts light on the suffering of wounded journalists there.

The Syndicate, in a statement, appealed to all relevant sides to pressure the occupation authorities to facilitate the exit of journalists injured as a result of its aggression for treatment out of the Strip.

The Syndicate noted that the Israeli occupation rejected a request it had submitted before for the medical transfer of al-Shafi.

It said that at least 25 wounded journalists are in urgent need of treatment abroad.

This brings the number of journalists killed during the ongoing Israeli aggression to 103.
