RAMALLAH, Wednesday, December 6, 2023 (WAFA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Riyad al-Malki expressed serious dissatisfaction with the contradictions of the international community in dealing with the Palestinian issue, including its double standards and apparent disregard for the lives of Palestinian civilians.

During a meeting in Ramallah with his Nicaraguan counterpart Denis Moncada, accompanied by a high-level delegation, Malki stressed the need to increase pressure on Israel to immediately end its aggression and reach a sustainable ceasefire agreement.

He also stressed the need to prevent the forced displacement of Palestinians in the Strip and provide them with protection.

Malki briefed his counterpart on the tragic situation in the Gaza Strip, the danger of continued Israeli military escalation, and the acute humanitarian catastrophe experienced by Palestinian civilians there.

He stressed the importance of seeking a political horizon that would end this suffering that has been lasting for 75 years, through the embodiment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state within the borders of June 4, 1967, and with East Jerusalem as its capital.

For his part, Moncada affirmed his country's support and full solidarity with the State of Palestine, noting that this visit was made upon the instructions of the President of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega, and his Vice President.

He expressed concern over the international community’s reaction, which he stressed demonstrates its acceptance of what is happening in Palestine, describing its reaction as “frightening”.

The Nicaraguan Foreign Minster called for an immediate end to the war and genocide committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip, stressing the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state and live on their land in freedom and peace.
