RAMALLAH, Sunday, November 12, 2023 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh called today on the international community to call for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Shtayyeh made the remarks during a meeting with Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen in Ramallah.
He also called for guaranteeing safe passages to facilitate the entry of relief and medical aid to all areas in the Strip.
Shtayyeh renewed his call to pressure Israel to stop its attempts to occupy the Gaza Strip and separate it from the West Bank.
He stressed the need to create a comprehensive and just political path that ends the occupation and establishes a state on the 1967 borders in all Palestinian territories in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
"The international community must stop dealing with Palestine with double standards. We are under a colonial military occupation with a hideous apartheid regime, and everything Israel does in the Palestinian territories is a violation of international humanitarian law,” he said.
Shtayyeh added that October 7 is not the beginning of the conflict with Israel, adding that the Palestinian people have been suffering for more than 75 years.
Since the beginning of this year, Israel has killed more than 390 of our people in the West Bank, a number of them at the hands of the colonial settlers, the prime minister said.
Shtayyeh called on Denmark and friendly countries that believe in the values of peace, truth, and justice to recognize the Palestinian state and protect the two-state solution "before it is too late."
