Ministry of Culture: Culture in Gaza has been repeatedly targeted by Israeli occupation since start of Israeli aggression

GAZA, Wednesday, November 8, 2023 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Culture said the cultural scene in the Gaza Strip has been repeatedly attacked by the Israeli occupation since October 7; noting that Gaza has lost many of its creative people in various fields, including children and adults.

The ministry said that 15 creative people, including two children, were killed in the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression on the Strip.

Many cultural centers were destroyed by the Israeli strikes, including five publishing houses, bookstores, and six cultural centers. In addition, many cultural and artistic instructions were partially damaged.

Most parts of the Old Town in Gaza City, which has over 146 ancient houses, in addition to historical and ancient mosques, churches, markets, and schools.

The Gaza port, which is nominated on the tentative list of Islamic and World Heritage, was also completely destroyed in the ongoing Israeli aggression.
