GAZA, Tuesday, November 7, 2023 (WAFA) - Media and information officer at the Palestine Red Crescent Society, Nibal Farsakh, said an ICRC humanitarian convoy, carrying medical supplies and food to medical centers in Gaza, including al-Quds hospital, was targeted by the Israeli occupation’s fire today.
Farsakh called on the international community and humanitarian institutions to take action to reject the targeting of humanitarian convoys, noting that for this reason, organizations have been unable to bring humanitarian aid to the Gaza governorate and the north.
She stressed that efforts and attempts must continue to bring in aid to the Strip, noting that all hospitals are suffering from collapse and a scarcity of medical supplies and medicines, in addition to fuel, which has not entered the Strip yet.
She stressed the need to bring in food and water, the provision of which has become a major challenge in northern Gaza.
Farsakh indicated that due to the severe shortage of fuel and the inability to provide it during the past few days, the Red Crescent Society decided to stop the electrical generators in Al-Quds Hospital after nine o’clock tomorrow morning.
She added that the surgical operations department will also stop working, in addition to relying on oxygen cylinders and stopping the oxygen generation station during the current period.
In addition, she said that operating the large generator will not be possible and that they will be relying on a small generator.
