RAMALLAH, Sunday, November 5, 2023 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh met today in Ramallah with French Consul-General in Jerusalem Nicolas Kassianides where they discussed France’s arrangements for the convening of an international conference to provide humanitarian and relief assistance to the Gaza Strip.
The conference, held under the auspices of French President, Emmanuel Macron, is set to be held by the end of the week at the level of heads of State and Government, foreign ministers, and UN and non-governmental organizations, in coordination with the state of Palestine.
They also discussed the development of the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression against the Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
Shtayyeh affirmed the need for the international community to take its responsibility seriously, stop the Israeli aggression immediately, allow the entry of relief and medical aid and fuel, and restore electricity and water to the Strip.
He also stressed the importance of implementing international humanitarian law in the Gaza Strip and the rest of the Palestinian territories, stating that: “Our priority is to stop the aggression and bring in aid.”
He further affirmed the importance of working to create a political horizon to end the occupation and establish a Palestinian state on the pre-1967 borders.
