RAMALLAH, Saturday, November 4, 2023 (WAFA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates today welcomed the decision by Honduras to recall its ambassador to Israel for consultation over the occupying state's genocide against the Palestinian people and its serious violations of international humanitarian law in the Gaza Strip.
This decision reflects Honduras's "high responsibility" as a member of the international community by taking concrete steps to stop the ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people and in support of the rights of the Palestinian people to life, justice, and freedom, said the Foreign Ministry in a statement.
It called on Honduras to take another bold step and reverse a decision by the previous government to move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.
It also called on other countries to follow the courageous position of Honduras and reconsider their diplomatic and economic relations with the occupying state, which is committing the most horrific crimes against humanity and should be immediately held accountable for its crimes.
