KHAN YUNIS, Friday, November 3, 2023 (WAFA) — Mohammad Abu Hatab, a Palestine TV correspondent who was murdered last night in a brutal Israeli massacre in Khan Yunis, was laid to rest this morning in the city, located in the south of the Gaza Strip.
Abu Hatab, a veteran reporter for the Palestine TV, along with 11 family members, including his wife, son, and brother, were tragically killed in the Israeli airstrike that targeted their home in Khan Yunis.
Several journalists, including the deputy head of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, Tahseen Al-Astal, along with representatives of political factions and relatives, participated in the funeral procession of Abu Hatab.
Paying tribute to Abu Hatab, Al-Astal emphasized the significance of providing international protection for journalists while they expose the Israeli occupation's crimes that target children and civilians. He stressed the need for the international community to act to halt the monstrous massacres committed by the occupation forces against unarmed civilians in Gaza.
He expressed his frustration with the international silence and the lack of stringent action to stop this Israeli aggression and prevent innocent civilians from facing this grim fate.
The participants called on the international community as a whole to act immediately to achieve an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and protect civilians from the brutal attacks they are enduring.
According to the latest statistics, the number of journalists killed by Israel since the beginning of its aggression on Gaza has risen to 28 journalists.
