RAMALLAH, Sunday, October 22, 2023 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh today called on the international community and friendly countries to create a united front in order to stop the Israeli occupation’s aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and its plans to displace them.

Shtayyeh made the remarks during a meeting in Ramallah with 25 ambassadors, representatives and consuls accredited to the State of Palestine

During the meeting, the Prime Minister called for pressure on Israel to prevent an Israeli ground invasion of the Gaza Strip and to allow medical and relief aid to enter Gaza.

He also stressed the necessity of creating and launching an effective political path in order to end the occupation, achieve the two-state solution, and realize the establishment of the Palestinian state.

Shtayyeh stressed the government’s priority to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, avoid further loss of life and property, and bring in medical and relief aid to prevent a major humanitarian disaster that threatens the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

He added that international support for Israel in its aggression means giving it the green light and a license for more killing and destruction.

“This is the sixth war on the Gaza Strip. Successive governments in Israel, especially under the far-right government led by Netanyahu, have adopted a strategy of systematically destroying the possibility of a two-state solution, and followed a divide-and-rule policy through attempts to separate Gaza from the Palestinian national project,” the Prime Minister noted.

In addition to the aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, Shtayyeh said, the Palestinian people are facing terrorism in the West Bank from the occupation army and its colonizers.

He said calls were made to encourage the colonizers to take up arms and change the rules of shooting, with the aim of more killing.
