GAZA, Wednesday, October 18, 2023 (WAFA) - Directors and representatives of governmental and private hospitals in the Gaza Strip affirmed their commitment to fulfilling their health and humanitarian mission towards the people there despite all the threats and warnings they receive, stressing that, “We will not abandon our patients and wounded, no matter the circumstances.”

They pointed out during a press conference held today regarding the Israeli occupation’s threats to evacuate the hospitals that “what happened with the al-Ahli Baptist Hospital is a massacre and a premeditated crime, and we warn the world that the occupier will continue with his threats if there is no one to restrain it.”

They added after bombing homes with people inside and targeting the displaced who were heading to the south, as well as ambulances, mosques and churches, the occupation dares today in an unprecedented brutal manner to target hospitals.

They pointed out that all hospitals in the Gaza Strip had received threatening messages from the Israeli occupation ordering evacuation, stressing that this order, in addition to being in violation of all international norms and laws, is operationally impossible to implement.

They explained that sending threatening messages repeatedly to health facilities proves that the Israeli occupation is thirsty to shed more blood and inflict more massacres and victims.

They stressed that the hospitals of the Strip are no longer a place for the sick only, but rather have become a place of refuge for innocent and defenseless displaced civilians who are stranded and cannot find a safe place in the entire Strip.
