TOKYO, Wednesday, October 18, 2023 (WAFA) – Japan today condemned the Israeli attack last night on the Baptist Hospital in Gaza City that left hundreds of people who were taking refuge there dead.

“We feel strong indignation on tremendous damage to innocent civilians.” said Japanese Foreign Minister Kamikawa Yoko in a statement. “Attacks against hospitals or civilians cannot be justified on any ground.”

He expressed Japan’s “heartfelt sympathy to the victims and offers its condolences to the bereaved families and expresses its heartfelt sympathy to the injured.”

The foreign minister said “Japan urges all the parties to act, based on international law, so as to avoid further civilian casualties. Japan will redouble its efforts, in coordination with other countries, to secure the safety of civilians and to calm down the situation as soon as possible.”
