NEW YORK, Thursday, September 21, 2023 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh today met with the United States envoy Hady Amr and his accompanying delegation on the sidelines of the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC) donors’ meeting at the United Nations headquarters in New York, where they discussed efforts to push the peace process forward.

The Prime Minister called for intensifying US efforts to oblige Israel to implement its pledges, as well as holding it responsible for its violations against the Palestinian people.

He explained that the Israeli measures, including the ongoing incursions, killings, and settlement construction ignite de jure and de facto an open conflict within a contemporary apartheid regime.

The Prime Minister briefed the US delegation on the difficult financial situation of the National Authority because of the illegal Israeli government’s deduction of tax funds without proper scrutiny, noting that the occupation’s deductions from our funds exceeded $800 million annually.
