HEBRON, Tuesday, May 2, 2023 (WAFA) – Rallies Tuesday evening continued to rock the occupied West Bank over the death of a Palestinian hunger striker in Israeli imprisonment, according to a media activist Mohammad Awad and security sources.
They said that scores of Palestinians marched in protest of the death of Khader Adnan, who passed away after almost 90 days of hunger strike in protest of his detention without charge or trial in Israeli custody, in Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron, opening fire towards participants and causing a number of suffocate from tear gas inhalation.
Meanwhile, the soldiers quelled a similar rally in al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem, opening fire towards the participants and civilian houses. There were no injuries.
Adnan, 44, was detained 12 times previously and spent at least six years as a political prisoner. His hunger strike in 2012 garnered international attention.
