NABLUS, September 6, 2026 (WAFA) — The continued siege imposed by Israeli occupation forces and colonists on three homes in the town of Qusra, south of Nablus, for the 29th consecutive day has prevented a teacher and two children from attending school and kindergarten.

Director of the South Nablus Directorate of Education, Samer al-Jamal, told WAFA that teacher Suhair Abu Rida was unable to join her colleagues at Asma Bint Abi Bakr School in Qusra because of the siege imposed on her home, depriving dozens of female students of their lessons.

He added that the siege had also prevented two children from attending kindergarten, describing the measure as a violation of children’s right to education.

The Nablus Directorate of Education had chosen Qusra to launch the new academic year, in an event attended by Nablus Governor Ghassan Daghlas and representatives of official and local institutions, as a message affirming the residents’ steadfastness and commitment to their children’s right to education.

Israeli occupation forces and colonists have continued to besiege three homes in the Ras al-Ain area of Qusra for 29 consecutive days, preventing their residents from entering or leaving their homes.
