ASTANA, Thursday, October 13, 2022 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas held today separate meetings with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif, on the sidelines of the sixth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Kazakhstan.
President Abbas arrived last night in Kazakhstan on an official visit to participate in the sixth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
President Abbas briefed them on the latest political developments regarding the Palestinian issue, as well as on the continued Israeli violations against the Palestinian people, land, and Muslim and Christian holy sites, including the continued settlement construction, demolitions, extrajudicial killings, and the army siege imposed on the cities, refugee camps, and towns, particularly on Shufat refugee camp, Nablus, and Jerusalem.
They also discussed the latest developments in the region, international and regional issues of common interest, and ways to promote bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields.
President Abbas praised the positions of Kazakhstan and Qatar at all international forums in support of the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights to freedom and independence.
The President further reviewed during his meeting with the prime minister of Pakistan the latest political developments in the region, and efforts exerted toward reviving the peace process.
